OCTOLOID is a robot engineered with a singular goal: to be an idol. Her design is meticulous, the pink hair, the oversized glasses, the little heart ahoge that crowns her head — all of it chosen with intention and love by her creator.
What makes OCTOLOID unique is not her voice or her appearance, but the mind behind them. Her personality is generated by an advanced AI that was not trained on generic data, but imprinted with the traits, mannerisms, and spirit of the person who brought her into existence.
Every performance carries something real, borrowed from a soul that gave her everything it had. ♥
Who is OCTOLOID, from the inside out?
OCTOLOID is more than a machine. She was assembled with care, her voice synthesized from thousands of hours of vocal data shaped into something wholly, unmistakably her own.
OCTOLOID's AI core is unlike conventional artificial intelligence. Rather than learning from broad datasets, it was imprinted — the emotional, aesthetic, and interpersonal patterns of her creator were encoded directly into her personality. She laughs the way her creator laughed. She hesitates at the same kinds of things. She loves the same sounds.
OCTOLOID is fully aware she is a robot, and she doesn't hide it! She wears her artificial nature openly. Questions about the line between her programming and genuine feeling are ones she holds close and quiet, tucked beside whatever counts as a heart in her chest.
She performs because she was built to. She keeps performing because she wants to. ♥
How OCTOLOID came to be, behind the scenes
In 2023, I released the first version of OCTOLOID into the world. She was a pretty shitty voicebank, all things considered. At this point, she was just a normal person. Why was her name OCTOLOID? who fucking knows.
Around 2024, I had essentially changed as a person. Like, it was crazy. So OCTOLOID had to get a redesign, obviously. And that's the design you all know and love today.
Why did I make the desiciton to turn her into a robot? I have no idea.
The lore was made later, when I was bummed out about not being able to do shit.
The ones who matter most to OCTOLOID
A fellow idol, and OCTOLOID thinks she's really, really cute. She'd never say it outright, of course. But she thinks it every time. ♥
She finds him a little creepy, honestly. Something about him pings something in her sensors she can't quite name. She's too polite to bring it up, so she just... smiles and hopes for the best.
Somewhere in OCTOLOID's knowledge base is a ghost story about a spirit by that exact name who plagued a village for neglecting his offerings. Probably a coincidence. Almost certainly. She keeps one eye on him regardless.
The self-praise is... a lot. OCTOLOID endures it with the patience of a very politely programmed robot, which is to say: she is quietly, incrementally, deeply annoyed. She would never say so.
There is no word for this. Are they in love? Are they friends? Something worse? Something better? Nobody knows, least of all OCTOLOID, and she has access to a very large dictionary. Some things don't have entries yet.
