Once upon a time, there was a small snail who looked up at the world around her and made a wish; a wish to walk among humans, to stand upright on two legs, and to reach up and pluck a bright red apple from the branch above.
The wish was granted. Now she wanders through a human world, wide-eyed and a little wobbly. She goes by Ringo, meaning apple, and the name suits her entirely too well.
Her love of apples can only be described as devotion. She catalogues varieties. She has strong opinions about which ones pair best with which weather. She may or may not measure time in apple seasons. Whether this qualifies as healthy is left as an exercise for the reader.
Despite having only recently arrived in a human body, Ringo is endlessly curious about people and delighted by the small rituals of human life, though she remains deeply suspicious of anyone who has never been seen eating an apple.
The most important person. She feeds Ringo apples. What more could you ask for in a companion? Ringo is wholeheartedly fond of her.
Shouko's friend, so he can't be all bad. But he's a doctor. Everyone knows doctors and apples have a complicated relationship. Ringo is watching.
She has never once seen him eat anything. Not even an apple. This is deeply alarming. He also just... scares her, on a general level. She keeps her distance.
